MIKROSIL
Silicon water-repellent impregnation
Characteristics
Exceptional hydrophobic properties.
It is used for impregnation of surfaces such as clay, roofing tiles, natural stone, concrete and similar. Mikrosil is made on the basis of silane and siloxane and as such has exceptional hydrophobic properties. Substrate coated with MIKROSIL preserves its natural look and its service life is significantly prolonged. It is colourless and has no harmful effect on vapour permeability.
Substrate Preparation
Substrate has to be hard, dry, free of dust, grease and other impurities. Hot water jet or steam wash is recommended to perform additional cleaning. Surfaces contaminated with algae and fungi should be remediated before MIKROSIL is applied. (treat the entire surface with ALGOSTOP, not only the spots with algae and fungi).
Application
Before use, MIKROSIL should first be shaken and then applied using a trowel or a brush. MIKROSIL is applied according to the “wet-to-wet” system in two to three layers. Optimal air and wall temperatures from + 50C up to + 300C, and relative humidity under 80%. Do not work in windy or rainy conditions. Wash tools with water immediately after use. Material in its original, well sealed and undamaged packaging may be kept for a subsequent use.
Consumption
1 l ≈ 1 - 4 m2, depending on the substrate absorption and roughness.
Packaging
1 l bottle, 15 pieces, 1 box = 15 l
5 l container, 105 pieces, 1 pallet=525 l
