GIPSOFIX
Adhesive for plasterboards
Characteristics
Excellent adhesion.
GIPSOFIX is a powdery compound based on plaster, mineral fillers and additives. It is intended for gluing plasterboards to vertical walls and concrete surfaces in indoor exploitation conditions.
Substrate Preparation
Substrate has to be hard, dry, free of dust, grease and other impurities. Soft surfaces should be removed. Before the material is applied, walls must be impregnated with PODLOGA KONCENTRAT primer (dilution ratio: PODLOGA KONCENTRAT: water=1:3). The drying time of the PODLOGA KONCENTRAT is around 6 hours, after which the application of GIPSOFIX may start. PODLOGA KVARC primer is recommended for smooth concrete surfaces.
Application
Use a 20 kg bag of GIPSOFIX per cca. 6.6 l of water and mix using a slow-speed mixer until a homogeneous compound is obtained. Leave such material to rest for about 2 to 3 minutes and then mix it again. The compound’s working time is around 60 minutes. GIPSOFIX is applied along the edges and in dots in the board centre. Boards should be installed onto the wall before the material starts to set. After their installation on the wall, boards should be levelled using a rubber hammer and a flat lath horizontally and vertically. Joints between the boards should be filled with the compound for the grouting of plasterboards, whereas the joints between the wall and the ceiling just like those between two neighbouring walls should be filled with permanently elastic kit after installation. Optimal air and wall temperatures during work and drying should be from +5°C up to +25°C. Wash tools with water immediately after use.
Consumption
≈ 4 - 5 kg/m2 depending on the wall quality
