Façade paints  

Durable. UV stable. Water-repellent.
Dispersive façade paint designed for painting and surface protection of exterior walls on residential, industrial, sports and other buildings. Good adhesion to substrates, durable in variable weather conditions, vapour-permeable and resistant to UV rays. Ecological paint – very low content of volatile organic compounds. Available in a number of shades in the Colorit mix scheme.

Appropriate substrates include fine façade surfaces of all types (cement, cement-lime), treated with levelling compounds, untreated concrete and plasterboards. Application on existing dispersive coats is also possible. Cement and cement-lime mortar substrates should dry for at least 1 day for each mm of thickness (T=20°C, rel. humidity 65%), whereas concrete surfaces should dry for at least one month. The substrate should be hard, dry and clean, free of dust, grease and oil. Hot water jet or steam wash is recommended to perform additional cleaning. Surfaces contaminated with algae and fungi should be remediated before the paint is applied. (treat the entire wall surface with ALGOSTOP, not only the spots with algae and fungi). Before applying UNIFAS AKRIL, the wall should be cleaned and impregnated with the PODLOGA UNIVERSAL primer of the colour that resembles most the shade of the façade colour. The drying time of the primer is around 24 hours, after which the application of the first layer of UNIFAS AKRIL may start. Alternative primers include PODLOGA PRAKTIK or PODLOGA KONCENTRAT. The primers represent, at the same time, a bridge binding the substrate and the applied material, creating a stronger bond and reducing consumption of material. Pay attention to possible repairs of façade surfaces. Roughness and absorption of those surfaces should resemble as much as possible the roughness and adsorption of the rest of the façade. Otherwise, the uneven spots will be even more visible.

Before its application, UNIFAS AKRIL should to be diluted with cca. 10% of water (white and pale shades) and cca.5% of water (darker shades), after which the entire volume is homogenized by mixing to achieve adequate consistency. UNIFAS AKRIL is applied using rollers with long fibres or brushes in at least two layers, evenly, and moving the roller at the end in the same direction to obtain visually uniform colour. To avoid shade variations due to the tying of surfaces, it is necessary to work without interruptions on wall surfaces. Note: If the material is diluted more than it is recommended, the thickness of the coat will be reduced affecting, at the same time, the characteristics of the paint as specified in the Technical Data Sheet. The second layer of material is applied on the completely dried first layer. The drying time between the two layers should be from 4 to 6 hours. Painting should be performed in appropriate microclimate conditions: air and wall temperatures during work and drying should be from +5°C up to +25°C, and relative humidity should be under 80%. The same shades (including white) from different production batches may differ due to natural origins of used raw material. In case of large surfaces, colour should be equalized in a container big enough to avoid non-uniformity of shade (quantity of paint needed for the total surface needs to be ordered at once, rather than to make partial orders). No diluting or adding of toners for tinting should be done during the application of material. In case of multi-storey buildings, paint is applied without interruptions on one side of the building, starting from the top stories down to the lower ones. Use protective sheeting for scaffolds during application. Do not work in wind, rain, fog or in direct sun. Paint in its original, well sealed and undamaged packaging that is not diluted with water may be kept for a subsequent use. Wash tools with water immediately after use.
